چکیده

Time series anonymization is an important problem. One prominent example of time series are energy consumption records, which might reveal details of the daily routine of a household. Existing privacy approaches for time series, e.g., from the field of trajectory anonymization, assume that every single value of a time series contains sensitive information and reduce the data quality very much. In contrast, we consider time series where it is combinations of tuples that represent personal information. We propose (n, l, k)-anonymity, geared to anonymization of time-series data with minimal information loss, assuming that an adversary may learn a few data points. We propose several heuristics to obtain (n, l, k)-anonymity, and we evaluate our approach both with synthetic and real data. Our experiments confirm that it is sufficient to modify time series only moderately in order to fulfill meaningful privacy requirements. TYPE OF PAPER AND

Time Series Models to Predict the Monthly and Annual Consumption of Natural Gas in Iran

Considering the fact that natural gas is a widely used energy source,  the prediction of its consumption can be useful (Derek LAM, 2013). As Iran has one of the largest gas reserves in the world, its consumption in the country can affect the worldwide price of gas, Therefore, the current research is useful both from economic and environmental point of view. ...

Three Approaches to Time Series Forecasting of Petroleum Demand in OECD Countries

Petroleum (crude oil) is one of the most important resources of energy and its demand and consumption is growing while it is a non-renewable energy resource. Hence forecasting of its demand is necessary to plan appropriate strategies for managing future requirements. In this paper, three types of time series methods including univariate Seasonal ARIMA, Winters forecasting and Transfer Function-...

Additive Sanitization: A Technique for Pattern-Preserving Anonymization for Time-Series Data

A time series is a set of data normally collected at usual intervals and often contains huge amount of individual privacy. The need to protect privacy and anonymization of time-series while trying to support complex queries such as pattern range and pattern matching queries. The conventional (k, p)-anonymity model cannot effectively address this problem as it may suffer serious pattern loss. In...
